Q. How do I join the library?

How to join City, University of London Library as staff, student, alumni, or external member.

Answer

Students

As soon as you register on your course you are a library member.  Remember to bring your City card with you to access the Library and borrow books. 

Staff

Complete our online registration form.  When you have joined, remember to bring your City card with you to access the Library and borrow books.

Alumni

You must get your Alumni Network card first.

For free reference access you must have your Alumni Network card with you to get access to the Library.

For a 1 year borrowing membership you need to complete the online registration form and make your payment of £30 online.   

SCONUL Access and Access 25

SCONUL Access bands A, B, and C members need to join in person at the Library Service Desk - don't forget to bring your SCONUL Access letter and your university ID card.

Access 25 members need to join in person at the Library Service Desk - don't forget to bring your Access 25 card and institutional ID card.

External Reference Subscription

Complete the online form and your application will be assessed by staff. You must demonstrate a genuine need to use our collections to view materials not accessible elsewhere.

If accepted, you will be sent a link to make payment.
