Borrowing books

You may borrow items from any City St George’s library by visiting the holding library to collect the book. You may need to register for access with the library first.

Requesting books from another library

CityLibrary locations (Northampton Square, Business and Law Libraries)

Requests can be placed for items when all copies are out on loan. You may choose your preferred CityLibrary pick-up location.

If there are no available items at your preferred pick-up location, you may place a request for an available copy at another library location.

It can take up to 3 working days to transfer items between locations so it may be quicker to visit the library to collect it yourself if there are copies available.

St George’s Library

You cannot request a book to be transferred between CityLibrary locations and St George’s Library.

Returning items

CityLibrary locations

Items borrowed from CityLibrary must be returned to a CityLibrary location (Northampton Square, Business or Law Library).

St George’s Library

Items borrowed from St George’s Library must be returned to St George’s Library.
