Q. I can't renew an item as it is 'on hold', what does that mean?

When trying to renew an item you get a message stating that the item cannot be renewed as it is 'on hold'.


This means that this title has been requested by another user.

You cannot renew items that have been requested, so you will need to return it by the due date on your record. If you still need the book, you can then request it yourself.

You could also check if there is an e-book of the title on CityLibrary Search which you will be able to access straight away with your City username and password.
