Error 102

When a user enters the wrong username and password combination into Bloomberg it locks the terminal to all subsequent users. To reinstate access, a staff member must call the Bloomberg help desk to unlock it.

  • Use the library desk phone and dial: 9 (for outside line) 020 7330 7500. Say that you are calling from the Business School Library at City, University of London and that you have error message 102.
  • They will ask for the Serial Number. You need to be in front of the Bloomberg terminal with Bloomberg open.
  • The Serial Number (S/N) is on the screen, and looks like: S/N 618958-0.

  • They may ask for the login that was used on Bloomberg. If the student is not the person who reported it, tell them this.
  • They may ask for our address details to prove we are who we say we are. If the student is there, get the student’s Bloomberg login name. Bloomberg will then unlock the terminal.
  • Get the student to login to Bloomberg to test this.
