EndNote is a reference management tool which allows you to collect, store and manage bibliographic references. You can include the references in your academic writing and automatically create a bibliography in the referencing style of your choice.

If academic staff or doctoral students would like to have EndNote installed on their university computer, they should make a request to IT Services.

There is also a free web version of EndNote called EndNote Basic, available from the EndNote website. As the name (EndNote Basic) suggests, this free version is more limited in its scope than the subscription version.

Library Services are not able to provide support for EndNote or EndNote basic.

We can provide support and training for RefWorks, which is a reference management tool with similar features to EndNote.

The University has a subscription to RefWorks and it is free for you to create an account by using your City email address.

For more information about RefWorks and how Library Services can help you, see our library guide.
