Students can access Datastream via the Excel Add-in on Eikon.

Datastream is a popular historical time series database covering financial and company data, macroeconomic indicators and fixed income securities.

Eikon is available on campus through specific PCs which can be booked in advance:

In the Financial Resources Zone in the Business Library at Bunhill Row and in the Financial Resources Suite at Northampton Square Library.

A limited number of Eikon usernames are available for off-site access. These will be issued on a first come, first served basis (Monday to Friday) and will expire at 08:00 UK time the following day (08:00 Monday if issued on Friday). Complete our request form to request a username and password. Alternatively email, businesslibrary@city.ac.uk.

Use our Library Guide to find out more about using Datastream via Eikon.

Students can also access Datastream via WRDS.

The dataset is listed under LSEG in WRDS.  To access WRDS datasets, click 'Register' on the WRDS homepage. Register using your City email address. Under 'User type', postgraduate and undergraduate students should select 'Masters/Undergrad.' You will receive an email within two working days asking you to agree to the Terms & Conditions. Follow the instructions in the email to finish setting up your account.
