How to bookmark, annotate and highlight text in VLeBooks

Bookmarking pages

You can bookmark any pages of interest so you can find them again easily. 

PDF

Click the bookmark icon in the top-right of the page, or use the keyboard shortcut  ctrl+shift+4 The bookmark icon will become active once selected.

EPUB

Click the bookmark icon in the left-hand margin of the page, or use the keyboard shortcut  ctrl+shift+4 The bookmark icon will become active once selected.  For EPUBs, the bookmark icon might not always be at the top of the page. This is because EPUB is a re-sizable format.

The bookmark feature in an EPUB in the VLeBook reading platform. It sits in the left hand margin of the page. It becomes blue when activated.

Highlight and annotate text

Use the pointer tool to select text on the page. The highlighter and annotation box will appear. You can choose a colour to highlight the text (you can use different colours for different themes you identify).

You can also add a note. Select the note icon which will open up the note editor. You can also format the text and add links.

Retrieving and exporting bookmarks, notes and highlights

To review your bookmarks:

  1. Open the annotations panel in the left hand vertical navigation bar.
  2. Find a list of hyperlinked bookmarks, annotations and notes in the order they appear in the book. Clicking anywhere on the annotation will take you to that page.
  3. To delete an annotation hover over the entry and select the delete icon.
  4. Click the export button to export the bookmarks and annotations into an html document.
