VLeBooks is an e-book platform with various built-in accessibility options and tools. These include:
- text-to-speech functionality
- background colour customisation
- annotation
- bookmark creation.

The VLeBooks e-reader platform
Open a book in the VLeBooks online reader. In the horizontal tool bar above the page viewer you will find a collection of tools. The image of the toolbar below shows, from left to right, magnification, background colour and Read Aloud.
Background colours
Changing the page background colour can create a more comfortable reading experience.
Select the background icon from the toolbar.
The first image below shows the Background Colours pop-out dialogue and the range of pastel backgrounds you can choose from. The second image below shows the yellow background colour applied to the page.
