  1. Enter your search terms into the CityLibrary Search box. This can be title, keyword or author.
  2. Use the Content type filters to limit to 'book / e-book'.
  3. Print books: The availability, shelfmark, library location, and loan period are displayed. There may be more copies available at other locations - select the link to view the full item record.

Finding e-books

E-books are accessible on and off campus. To access our e-books search for them on CityLibrary Search and follow the 'full text online' links. Sign in when prompted using your City username and password.

Our e-books vary slightly according to platform. You can navigate through the book using the table of contents, scrolling or selecting a page number.

Downloading e-books

Many of our e-books can be downloaded to your PC, mobile device or e-reader. However, some publishers do not offer this functionality.

If you want to know if a particular publisher will allow downloads take a look at our E-book guide to find out more information about our different providers.

Can I read the e-book on my Kindle?

It depends on the e-book supplier.

If the e-book, or chapter of the e-book are available as a PDF, you can save the PDF and upload it to your Kindle.
