An Estates project is being carried out to replace the windows on the upper levels of the main library in University Building this summer. This is a large-scale project that will address the long-standing issue of draughty windows in the main Library, improving study conditions for students.

  • Level 5 and 6 of Northampton Square Library will be closed from 14th July.  Silent study space will remain available on Level 4.
  • We have a fetching service in place if you wish to borrow or consult books located on Level 5.  You can normally expect these to be available from the Level 2 request/pick-up area on the next working day.
  • Please request books as usual via the CityLibrary Search.

There will be some noise disruption while the estates work continues.  Alternative study spaces at Northampton Square include the Law Library, open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
