Q. Why did CityLibrary Search say we have the article but when I followed the link it wasn’t there?


The results of CityLibrary Search can often provide direct links to full-text content which is a quick and convenient way of accessing an article.

Occasionally this method can go wrong.

Because it is an automated process the computers reading the article reference data, can pass on incomplete or incorrect information resulting in an error message.

But don’t despair!

This doesn’t necessarily mean that we don’t have access to the article, just that the computer is having problems linking you to it.

If the red “article” button results in an error message, you can try the grey “journal” button.

This route requires a few more clicks as you browse through the journal’s list of years, volumes and issues until you find the reference you need.
