EBSCOhost: Creating journal table of contents alerts

Answer

Table of contents alerts can be set up to provide automatic email notification of the contents of the latest issues of selected journals. You can create content alerts for journals available through the EBSCOhost platform.

  1. Sign in to your EBSCOhost account and from the home screen check the Select / deselect all checkbox, then select the Continue button.

  1. On the next screen open the Publications dropdown and a list of databases available through EBSCOhost will appear. Choose a database to see the journals available from it.

  1. You can search for journals:
  1. Alphabetically
  2. By entering terms for the subject you’re interested in (By Subject & Description)
  3. By entering terms that appear somewhere in a journal’s title (Match Any Words)

  1. A list of journals will be displayed. To create an alert select the orange RSS Create alert for... symbol next to the journal you want to follow.Ebsco page showing alter creation in step 4 in list above.
  2. A Create Alert box will be displayed.
    1. Enter the email address you want the contents sent to in the Email to field.
    2. Use the radio buttons under Email contents to receive a link to the table of contents or link to individual articles
    3. if you only want to be alerted to articles which are available in full text from EBSCOhost check the box Alert on full text only
    4. Select the Save Alert button to create the alert.
