Creating a Citation Alert in Scopus

A Citation Alert notifies you when new publications cite a particular study.  ​ 

You may find this useful for retrieving studies which cite a key study you have found through your research.​ 

  1. Select the Article Title field.
  2. Enter the title of the study you wish to receive alerts for.
  3. Select the Search button.

      
  4. On the next page click on the title of the study
    SCOPUS search results described in step 4 above.
  5. Details of the study will be displayed on the next page. Select the Set citation alert button.

  6. A Set document citation alert box will appear. You can:

    1. Give the alert a name 
    2. Enter the email address(es) where you would like the alert sent.
    3. Decide how often and when you wish to receive alerts by adjusting the Frequency dropdowns.
    4. Select the Set Alert button to confirm the alert.
